If your child needs special care, you have access to specialists not found anywhere else in the area including:

• Pediatric surgeons who provide surgery for both minor and major conditions
• A pediatric anesthesiologist with special skills to provide anesthesia to children during surgery
• Pediatric oncologists and hematologists who care for children with leukemia and other children’s cancers and blood disorders
• A pediatric audiology specialist who cares for children with hearing problems
• Two pediatric radiologists who are specially educated to care for children
  

We also offer the highest level of care for the most severely ill and injured children:

• A Level I Trauma Center with pediatric qualifications
• Pediatric burn care provided in the region’s only Burn Center
• A Level III neonatal intensive care unit to care for babies born prematurely
• The area’s only pediatric intensive care unit to provide the highest level of care for the most severely ill and injured children 24 hours a day, seven days a week
• A special rehabilitation program for children, including children who have burns or are recovering at home
  

We recognize care for children goes beyond the most state-of-the-art technology. Children also need to feel safe, comfortable and have loved ones at their side. So we offer:

• The area’s only Child Life program that helps children cope emotionally and relax while they are receiving treatment in the hospital. A child life specialist also provides support and education to families
• Care at home for children who need respiratory care, tube feeds, physical therapy and other specialized care
