Children's Care
What Sets Us Apart
You’ll find the area’s most complete care for children—from birth through teenage years—right here, close to home.
If your child needs special care, you
have access to specialists not found anywhere else in the area including:
-
Pediatric surgeons who provide surgery for both minor and major conditions
-
A pediatric anesthesiologist with special skills to provide anesthesia to children during surgery
-
Pediatric oncologists and hematologists who care for children with leukemia and other children’s cancers and blood disorders
-
A pediatric audiology specialist who cares for children with hearing problems
-
Two pediatric radiologists who are specially educated to care for children
We also offer the highest level of care for the most severely ill and injured children:
-
A Level I Trauma Center with pediatric qualifications
-
Pediatric burn care provided in the region’s only Burn Center
-
A Level III neonatal intensive care unit to care for babies born prematurely
-
The area’s only pediatric intensive care unit to provide the highest level of care for the most severely ill and injured children 24 hours a day, seven days a week
-
A special rehabilitation program for children, including children who have burns or are recovering at home
We recognize care for children goes beyond the most state-of-the-art technology.
Children also need to feel safe, comfortable and have loved ones at their side. So we offer:
-
The area’s only Child Life program that helps children cope emotionally and relax while they are receiving treatment in the hospital. A child life specialist also provides support and education to families
-
Care at home for children who need respiratory care, tube feeds, physical therapy and other specialized care
